Let's Paint!

 

 Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Let The Music Play  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: LET'S PAINT!

I do love to paint! Give me some watercolors, acrylics, aqua pencils, whatever...and I will have fun playing. I really like creating depth with layers of color, and that was my aim today in my art journal. 

LOVE BLOOMS EVERYWHERE

I began with an under layer of yellow, pink and orange acrylic paint.

Next up, a layer of cool colors - blue and purple. 

I went back in with more warm colors, and once dry, I stamped some fun dots with black ink. 

I had to cut a hole into a shower mat, and looked at the piece I cut out...huh! I could use that to make marks, so that is what I did with the green paint.  

I whitewashed the surface, so my stamped images would be visible.  

Once dry, I went in with some Scribble Sticks and water to add more color to the flowers. I splattered on some white paint, then, I also added this beautiful dragonfly from Simon Says Stamp.  

Floral blooms and XOXO stamps...

I made some subtle marks with Simon's Make Your Mark stamps and Pawsitively Saturated inks. 

Layers of color, mark making and design all come together on this art journal page.
