Inspired By A Movie

 

 Hello Monday my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Letter S Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

What a treat it's been this month to have Alison Bomber with us! Many thanks Alison for sharing your amazing creations, and I look forward to seeing more of your makes.

This week the challenge is: INSPIRED BY A MOVIE

I chose the movie "Alice in Wonderland". I was inspired by the Stamperia paper line Alice in Wonderland to work in my art journal. I'm still having vision issues after my eye surgery this spring, so I need to keep things simple. But, there's a lot you can do with just a few things, so I hope you enjoy this. 

I began by stamping these cute images from Stamping Bella on the spread. I chose paints that matched up well with the papers, and began with painting the background  with Salvaged Patina.

Once the background dried, I added dots with the Simon Says Stamp In the Round stencil and Aged Mahogany.

Then, I chose papers and collaged bits and pieces onto the pages. 

I was going to leave my stamped figures plain, just because I never do that, but then I decided to add in a bit of color with colored pencils.

Furry Friends

Hello Monday my friends! Welcome back to this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - FURRY FRIENDS. 

I have a quick project for this week's theme - a Valentine with a humorous twist. I chose a squirrel, specifically a red squirrel, because with the bitter cold we've been having, a little furry friend like this one has been trying to get into our house. Hopefully, it does not find a way in! 

I kept this pretty simple with the heart Klimt die cut,  and the stamped and colored images. I added a bit of detail with gold Liquid Pearls and white pen. I colored the images with markers and blended them with a water brush, then popped them up on the heart.

Lazy Days of Summer

Hello Monday my friends! Welcome back to this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - LAZY DAYS OF SUMMER. How do you like to spend your summer days? One of my favorite pastimes is to read and travel on my imagination. When I was teaching, I didn't have much time to read during the school year, so summer was my time to pull out my horde of saved books and read. I'd take them camping, traveling, out on the deck, in the hammock under the pines...anywhere I could find a quiet spot to read. Can you tell I love books?

I started by stamping the background of the card.

Next, smoosh on some color...

Then, layer a stencil over it...

Add a bit of definition to the sun...

Color the reading gnome with distress inks and a waterbrush...

Add some glitter...
