Party Time!

Our challenge theme is 

Party!

It's a super busy time of the year, so I really did not take process shots this time, so hope you enjoy what I made. 

I altered clothespins with a fun mix of red, white and blue, and snowmen. These could be a hostess gift, ornaments to clip on the tree or gift, clipped onto the napkins at the holiday dinner table, and I'm sure you can think of more!

I started by covering the clothespins with patterned paper. I used white clothespins, but you could easily paint them any color, or use natural wood. I glued the fluted star to a large button, and fancied up the wood shapes with distress oxide and glitter.

I fussy cut these cute snow people, topped them with Diamond Glaze, added sequins, beads and festive red and white thread.

I had to decorate the backs too, so added a fluted star on a button, and glued some matching bling onto them.

To turn it into a gift, it's easy to cut a piece of cardboard, cover it with patterned paper and stickers, and put it in a clear bag. I just went to my stash and found paper and stickers that would match my colors. 

You could easily turn these into magnets for the fridge by decorating one side and adding a magnetic strip. Lots of possibilities!

Thanksgiving 2009 Table Favors

These are the table treats I made for everyone at Thanksgiving. All you do is stamp an appropriate holiday design, punch it out with the Stampin Up scallop punch and sandwich a York Peppermint Patty in the center. I put them together in a trio and tied a ribbon on for a festive touch. It's a simple idea from my friend Michelle, and one that you can easily do for any holiday. Use it to decorate your holiday table, as a quick gift, or add it on to a package for a special treat!---Maura

Test Tubes

Since I don't think any of my husband's co-workers read our blog, I will go ahead and share this year's Halloween goodie that I made for him to hand out. These test tube party favors are not new...I think they were in last year's Halloween craft collection from Martha Stewart. However....I looked all over for them and they were out of stock everywhere. I had forgotten all about them until I was at a local store this week (Meijer's) and just happened to find them. I was so excited that I snatched up all they had. And they were on sale! Best of all...my husband likes them so I know they will be a big hit at work. I couldn't find them on the Martha Stewart site, but I did find them in stock HERE.

Halloween Treat Boxes

One of the crafting things that I love to make is holiday goodies to hand out throughout the year. Since Halloween is fast approaching, I thought that I would share an idea from last year and later this week I'll show what I am working on for this year's goodie. The hardest thing for me is coming up with different ideas for each holiday that I have not used before. That's where inspiration from the internet comes in. A great source for holiday craft ideas is Martha Stewart.



I used her Coffin Treat Box template to make these. You can find the template and a video that shows you how HERE. It is always easy to fill them with candy, but you can also be creative for those special recipients....my mom's had a small bag of a favorite coffee in hers and my husband's had a certificate for a new video in his.

It's not too late to make these! Have fun.
