Spritz and Splatter

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Bright and Cheerful  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: SPRITZ AND SPLATTER

Who doesn't enjoy a good spritzing? or splattering? I channelled Spring with my colors and design.

Why not make a tag for Valentine's Day? Or a birthday or anniversary? If you can't get out to pick up real flowers, here is the next best thing.

LOVE YOU TAG

I selected a mix of sprays to work with on my tag.

I sprayed through the stencil with three colors and splattered on the Fuchsia. I used too much orange and it went under the stencil, leaving blobs that I wasn't happy with.

I laid paper over the stencil with the spray on it, and printed a reverse image. I cut and ripped that to go over part of the tag.

Fussy cutting the stamped and colored flowers...

Figuring out how I wanted to lay everything out...

I stamped Love You and colored butterflies to add. I popped those up.

I wanted to echo the stenciled colors in the flowers, so went with yellow, orange and pink. I used watercolor for the flowers and butterflies.

I tied off the tag with hand dyed ribbon. Final step was to splatter some gold gouache with the splatter brush.

Trees

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  EMBOSS IT  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

It's been great having Teresa with us this month sharing her wonderful creative mojo!  Looking forward to seeing more fabulous makes, Teresa!

This week the challenge is: TREES

Honored to be chosen as a favorite of the week at Splitcoaststampers!!

The fallen leaves return to the earth to decay and bring forth new growth in the Spring.  I thought this quote from teamie Andrea Ockey Parr fit this idea perfectly for my art journal page.

ALWAYS HOPE

For my stamping, I inked up a couple of colors on the background stamps, spritzed them with water, then stamped. I wanted a blend of colors and a watercolor effect.

I stamped the different leaf backgrounds for an all over print.

Next step is to over stamp with the leaf outlines.

I worked on the large piece, then cut it into 4's to place on my background paper, creating a bit of a window effect.

I stamped the words and some dots onto the center piece, mounted it, and tilted it.

AND ALWAYS THERE WAS HOPE

I made mine into an art journal page, but on a smaller scale, this would make a lovely card too.

Alcohol Inks or Drinks

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Sparkle and Shine  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: ALCOHOL INKS OR DRINKS

I went for Alcohol Inks for my makes this week. I pulled a couple out of my stash that I had made awhile back. It's nice to have some extras like this on hand to pull from when you need them. Why not just play for an afternoon with your inks and make some backgrounds?

Mr. Snail Explores the FUNky Forest

Honored to have my Funky Forest card selected as a Weekly Favorite at Splitcoast Stampers!!

He Was Spellbound!

I used a mix of orange, yellow, pink and purple ink on this background.

I die cut the gentleman to overlook the scene...

Two mischievous cats and a quote chip...

Is the cat spellbound or the man? I added big googly eyes to my "male" cat, and doodled some flirty lashes on my "female" cat.

I added a bit of the alcohol ink background to the top hat...

One card ready for Halloween!

Dreamy landscape that reminds me of the woods, using blues, greens, purple, and yellow inks.I do love the look you get by dripping the ink down the paper.

I added Funky Toadstools and Trees, and a cute little snail for my scene.

I think this funky forest works beautifully with this background for a whimsical card.

I can see this emerging from the pages of a children's book...

Alcohol inks two ways...you get such a different feel depending on color choice and how the ink moves. Hope you enjoy playing with your alcohol inks this week!
