It's Pumpkin Spice Time!

Hello friends! I'm back with a simple Pumpkin Spice themed card for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog hop. 

I've used the October Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp to make this simple card. I added in some embellishments with a white pen. This just makes me feel cozy.

How about you, are you a Pumpkin Spice fan? I have to make sure to at least get one during the season.

YAY! It's the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! I always look forward to these hops. Even though I don't participate every time, I always enjoy seeing what others create. I'm happy to be able to join in again this time.

If it's me, I want that coffee all the time, especially as it is getting chillier outside. I made this card using the Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit. I colored the images with markers and added some distress ink to create a fun woodsy fall theme.

Welcome back to Card #2 for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! 

It's a rainy and foggy day here, but the snow is still covering the ground, so a good day to whip up a couple of cards!

I used the new die Ice Skating Girl from Simon Says Stamp, a cup I cut out of an old Starbucks card, Tim Holtz snowflake, and tag from Prima's Coffee Break paper pad.  I tied on a bit of sari ribbon for a scarf. Inspired by Michelle Ward: CJS 2018

I'm sharing a quick look at my art journal pages inspired by Michelle Ward's lesson at Creative Jumpstart. If you haven't signed up yet, be sure to check it out, there is still plenty of time to join in the fun! (link at bottom of page)

I decided to do a page on my love of coffee and some of my favorite coffee houses. I can usually be found crafting with a cup of coffee at my side, always being careful not to dip the brush into the coffee instead of the water!

I used several different stencils from Stencil Girl, Heidi Swap, and The Crafter's Workshop to get the fun mix of designs. 

Coffee browns are compliments of my DecoArt heavy body acrylics - Burnt Umber, Yellow Oxide and Burnt Sienna.

Next I pulled out some coffee cup holders and cut bits out to add, then went around them with a graphite pencil and water brush. 

Final touch - I inserted these coffee cards that I'd been saving. This seemed like the perfect time to use them!

Oh yes, I bet you can tell from this I love my coffee!

Flavored with Coffee!

I'm sharing the Coffee themed loaded envelope I made for a swap recently. My friend and I who swapped are both coffee lovers, so we had fun making these for each other, and we even put in some of the same gifts - LOL!

I had fun playing with some Distress oxide inks and coffee splats on scrapbook paper.

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

It's time for the Winter Coffee Lovers blog hop! It runs for a week and there is a TON of holiday inspiration, so be sure to check it out! 

Tis the season, so I made a coffee angel ornament! 

A while back, I had a large amount of leftover coffee, so decided to experiment and soaked tags and cheesecloth and lace in it to soak up the delicious coffee colors. I took two tags and turned one into the body and cut the other in half and made the wings. I cut the head out of scrap tag. 

I folded some lace around my head to create the hair and added two buttons (28 Lilac Lane Toasted Graham) and glued it all down. 

I added a strip of lace at the bottom of the wings and covered them with cheesecloth, then went around and glittered them up with sequins (28 Lilac Lane).

For the angel's dress, I layered several different laces and overlapped them.

Grab Your Coffee Cup and Get Some Fresh Brewed!

Happy Fall everyone! Hope it is a beautiful autumn day wherever you are. For all you coffee, tea and cocoa lovers, you know this also means it's time for the Fall Coffee Hop which you can visit right HERE. 

I had a lovely Lavender Latte (and a delicious almond cake) at my local Co-op on Monday. This definitely got me in the mood for the hop. Who would think lavender and coffee pair so well, but they really do, so I wanted to share a little recipe for a Simple Lavender Syrup and you can read more details HERE, along with a recipe for iced lavender coffee. Yum!!

Lavender Simple Syrup

1/2 tsp lavender buds, dry or fresh

2 cups sugar

1 cup water

Combine all in a small pot on the stove and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain the lavender buds out, cool and store in a jar.

And, here's my card for the hop! How about some fresh brewed? The background is actually from the paper I lay down when I use sprays and stencils, and the leaves and man are stamped on copy paper I painted. Using up some scraps and just having fun!

I love these old stamps of mine I found, they remind me of woodcuts. I thought it would be fun to show the steps from grinding the coffee, to brewing, to enjoying that great cuppa, and I do love a great cup of java! So yes, Java Great Day!

Missing my Coffee

Well, finally I took some photos as I worked! I started out by writing coffee, coffee, coffee...all over this piece of watercolor paper with a Molotow masking pen and let that dry.

Next, I took my watercolors and dripped them down the paper.

Then I rubbed off the masking fluid to get this cool design!

Love my freshly brewed coffee, and this Blueprint stamp from Tim Holtz! So, I stamped it onto the card, and used water to remove some of the color from the cup.

Added the "missing you." If my coffee is not around, I do miss it, but this could also be sent to a friend who is missed. I found this old Stampers Anonymous "Saying Stuff" set to use with the word frame.
