Treasure From the Beach

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  FOOD AND DRINK Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: AT THE BEACH

You never know what treasure you may find washed up on the beach. One day a bottle shaped like a lighthouse and encrusted in barnacles, shells and treasures washed up.

My son gave me a wine bottle shaped like a lighthouse to alter. I mixed paint and vollage medium and poured it insiede to give the bottle a turquoise hu like the ocean. This took quite awhile to dry, but once done, I applied molding paste onto the bottle and embedded all the treasures - ubbles, gears, shells, beads, pebbles, etc. Again, I let that dry completely. I went over evrything with white gesso, then added paints and waxes. Final step was adding in some tiny beads glues in place with Glossy Accents.

I was inspired by the beauttiful works that Finnabair crates.

Sparkle and Shine

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Anything Christmas  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

It's been wonderful having Carrie with us this month. I am sure you have enjoyed her creative makes as much as I have.

Thanks to my Teammate Cheiron for the inspiration for my make.

This week the challenge is: SPARKLE AND SHINE

This is a 2 week challenge so we can all relax and enjoy the holidays.

Happy Holidays!

I'm taking a year long course, and teamie Cheiron is teaching over there in December. I love her idea for making little art canvases, and decided to make mine a bit larger Sparkle on!

Even though it's the holiday season, I was inspired to go with more tropical colors...perhaps it's due to the snow piling up around my house these days. I've added stamped images, book papers, and some good words to lead into the new year.

I surprised myself going for turquoise, pink and yellow, but I love how it pulled together.  I added shimmery paint, sparkles and splatter to finish it off.

I also used Cheiron's idea to create an art journal page.

Focus on the Good in the new year!  Happy Holidays and see you again in 2026.

Take Your Time at Christmas

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Wrap It Up  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: ANYTHING SCHRISTMAS

I wanted to make a gift for a friend I often go out for coffee and chats with, ant this crafty shape was the perfect base. I tried to go with an earthy palette for her, and give it a seasonal twist. Both sides are finished so she can choose which to display. I have to say, I had a LOT of fun making this!

I had to rein in my color muse and go for a nice brown background. Turns out, I really like how it looked.

I stenciled the pine bough in Heather, then again in shimmer paint.

Starting to get that festive feel...

I stamped the words pieces onto my Simon friendship Text stamp....perfect since it is for a friend.

I had debated painting the words, but am glad I went in this direction instead.

I added paint onto watercolor paper, then stamped the bow and fussy cut it. I did one for each side, and added a dazzling gem.

On this side, I also stenciled trees in a mix of greens, and outlined them with a gold pen. I added splatter thinking of tiny dots of snow, but look what happened!  I was ready to wipe off the blobs, but when I looked again, I liked the kind of retro feel to it. Happy accident!

Mushroom Magic

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Monochrome Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: SPRITZ AND SPLATTER

Mushroom Magic

I am drawn to mushrooms for some reason. They grow in so many forms, sizes and colors, and are connected to each other underground. This seemed the perfect subject matter for this week's challenge.

I began with a piece of scrap white, and stenciled mushrooms onto it with spray stains and stencil.

While that dried, I cut out patterned papers to collage onto the mushroom pieces with collage medium.

I added another layer with the printed tissue.

I used a file to get the edges trimmed, and like the distressed look it gives also. Then, I added splatters of the glossy mediums.

I debated with different ideas on how I wanted to use my mushrooms. I finally decided on a black canvas board  that I stenciled with the grid stencil and mica stain.

I stamped a few butterflies to add...

These words seemed perfect, and I stamped them on a kraft tag.

An odd number of elements in always a good choice, so I added three butterflies.

I echoed the twine I added to the tag, by tying a bit around one mushroom.

Lots of spritzing and splattering, even on the grasses.
