December Little Fat Book Pages

I wanted to share the pages I made for an art exchange. I used my Kit Terrific Klub from Captured Moments with Carta Bella "warm and cozy" to make all of these, then added the glass glitter.

Showing the backs...

And a close up of each little page...

I'm going to enter the sleigh page into the Simon Says Transportation challenge...dashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh...

There is rather a snowy December theme here, just like I am seeing out my window. Happy December!

Advent Ruler/Card Display ready for today!

December 1 is here, and I have one beautiful decor item ready for the holiday season. It is a yardstick with these darling themed clothespins, designed by my good friend Tiffany from Captured Moments. Now that I am retired, I go to "Tuesday's with Tiffany", and over the last 4 weeks we worked on this. I love it!

In its entirety so you can see it together. I added a wire so I can hang it.
Now for the details...
Do you have a favorite pin?

This was so much fun making the detailed clothespins, adding some sparkle, and laying them out. Now I am just waiting for my first Christmas card to arrive so I can clip it up!

French Connection Crop

Oooo la la! Had some fun this weekend at the French Connection crop by Captured Moments. Tara and Tiffany had these fun props for us to use to take photos. Fun prizes, great company and good crafting.

In keeping with the theme, T&T always have fun in the food department. We had French dip, strawberry crepes, chicken cordon bleu, and for the evening dessert (photo), a fruit tart, and get this, a French toast and bacon cupcake! I must say, I have never had that before.

Camp Scrap: Week 2 Challenge

I have been meaning to do this layout for over a year, and the Week 2 challenge to layer on the layout was a perfect stepping stone for me to get this done. I used one of my Kit Klubs from Captured Moments, so it was all coordinated.

Here is the base I started with, a simple background page with splashes of pattern.

Next, figuring out the placement of photos

Here it is in all it's layered glory! Most of the embellishments are from the kit, but I just got my new hexagon punch from Stampin Up and I had to play with that! I really like that extra layer of pattern.

Queen of the Crop

This is the lucky duck that brought me the honor. I think Tara and Tiffany made an awesome crown for the Queen, and hopefully I fulfilled all of my duties from the pink throne! Thank you to my court for willingly being part of the fun!
Sharing one of the projects I made at the crop...a patriotic hanging designed by Maria. I love what she came up with, and this will decorate my home for the upcoming holiday. Beautiful red, white and blue papers.

Retirement anyone?

I've been working on some retirement albums for a few teachers lately who will be leaving us at the end of the school year. I used kits from my Kit Terrific Klub membership at Captured Moments to put these together plus a few extra items. One of the great things with working from a kit, is everything is coordinated. Albums are from We R Memory Keepers (love the divided pages). I themed each scrapbook to reflect the interests and teaching of each person. Inside are cards from fellow workers with a special message.

This book goes to a foreign language teacher, and includes both a French and Spanish theme. Don't you just love that delicious pink?

I hope they each enjoy this special memento from all of us!

Pajamarama Crop

So, what is more fun than scrapping in your pj's? I am sure we could put a few things in a list, but this is one fun way to spend the day! Our friends at Captured Moments put on this great crop last Saturday.
What did I do? Well, I chatted a lot, drank coffee, ate great food, and oh, yeah, did some scrapbooking. Here's a look at some of the projects I did.

Saying Goodbye is hard to do

My local scrapbook store is closing their doors this week. I am having a hard time with this. Over the last 7 years or so, this has become my second home, both as a creative haven, and the many wonderful people I have met and become friends with. I will miss my "students" and the classes I taught at the store. Sheila and I have even cropped together here! I will miss the moments like this one at the store.
"My family" who run the store-Tara, Tiffany, Nick and Maria are beginning a new venture and taking the store online, and focusing on bigger and better crops. You can bet I have signed up for every crop offered so far! I truly do wish them the very best in their new direction, and will support them in whatever ways I can. Best Wishes!
I have been blessed for these many years by having this wonderful place to go to, to play, to learn, to meet friends, to inspire me...but, I am sad to see the end of my favorite gathering place. Thank you Captured Moments for a wonderful experience :)

Queen of Hearts Crop

"Name tag" I made for the crop...just slipped this into my lanyard to celebrate the crop theme. I had fun making a couple of extras for my good friends at the crop Michelle and Lynda. We all had fun at the crop, and we even had a "Queen" and her court - she got a throne chair to sit in, they were first in line for the yummy meals, got cushy red cushions to sit on. Tara and Tiffany at Captured Moments keep coming up with great ideas!
Tag I made at the crop...love the design Tara and Tiffany.
Crop page we made
Darling little bunnies make and take...I'll be ready for Easter!
And...I won this lovely prize - Tim Holtz Blueprint stamp...oh, be still my heart!

Cropical Getaway

Our friends at Captured Moments hosted an amazing crop yesterday with a tropical theme (much needed with our recent temperatures running in the negatives...brrr!). We got our crop goodies which included leis, so I had to have a bit of silly fun with mine!
We also got name tags and lanyards and themed pins to add (palm tree). Well, as soon as I made my name tag, my friend Michelle wanted me to make hers, so here they are. Oh, so you ask, what's with Norma and Kim? Well, here are the stories. Michelle, aka "Kim" was at our LSS when Tiffany introduced her to another customer as Kim. This happened more than once, and I am sure people wondered why Michelle did not respond to "her name". Norma evolved when our friend Sheree left me a note at a weekend crop to tell "Norma" that she had gone downstairs to crop. So, Michelle and I latched on to our alter egos, who are always the ones who seem to get into trouble!
Cute little scrap page to hold our crop memories. Hmmm, maybe that photo of me with the flowers in my hair? We also got to choose a themed kit as part of the crop, and as always, there was lots of delicious food, prizes, a make and take...what more could a scrapper ask for?
Michelle designed this Valentine frame kit, which I love! So, I had to have one and make it!! It is on display and ready to lead us into February. Red, black and cream...what a fab color combination!
And finally, a sneak peek at a Valentine project which I will share in an upcoming post. Hmmm, wonder "Who" this could be??

There you have it-the very latest in crop news. The voyage to the tropics was a LOT of FUN! Maybe it will hold me through the next round of winter storms :)

View from the crop

How does a day of crafting with friends sound to you? You might have figured out by now, that I like to go to crops....LOL! I thought I would share a few moments from the after Thanksgiving, after Black Friday crop with you. Anyone hit the stores at midnight, the wee hours of the morning, at home in PJ's? I will admit to a "bit" of web surfing and buying.
