 Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Spritz and Splatter  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: THINGS WITH WHEELS 

I knwe I wanted to head in the color wheel direction this week with our wheels challenge. What I didn't expect was Mary Poppins putting in her tuppence of creative musing. While I was working on the rainbow of colors for the color wheel, she jus popped in and said, "Add me!" So I did. I must have been inspired by our recent watching of the movie. Truly, You never know whrere inspiration may strike from!

 

I began with warm ink colors, and blended them down to the center with the small blending brushes.

Next, I added in the cool colors...this is such a fun stencil from Tim Holtz to use for this. 

My selection of inks. I could have pulled others but these seemed to play well together. 

I decided to add a black inked border to make it pop more. 

And then, it was finding the perfect items to represent Mary Popping, including a bird to show her up in the sky. 

This quote seemed like the perfect fit... 

And of course, Mary Poppins and her unmbrella. 

The songs from the movie keep playing in my head..."Let's Go FLy a Kite", "Just a Spoonful of Suga", and so on. We enjoyed our journey back to our childhood, reminiscing about the movie.

Spritz and Splatter

 

 Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  ADD SOME TEXTURE  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: SPRITZ AND SPLATTER

It's the perfect time to make a few valentines and why not have some fun with some spritz and splatter on them? Wishing you all a happy Valentine's Day! 

I began by choosing some papers out of Dino Wakeley's collage collection of papers and cut the one larger sheet into card size backgrounds. 

Then I stamped part of the large heart by simon says stamp onto the card. I love the mix of words that make up this heart. 

Time for some splatter! My first splatter layer is with the new simon says stamp silver splatter. I use the splatter brush by Tim Holtz which gives this nice mix of Little and big spots. 

 Then I added some distress spritz by Tim Holtz, and white splatter from simon says stamp.

Hopefully you can see the mix of splatters and spritzes on this card. 

And here are the four valentine cards that I created with lots of splattering and spritzing.

This week the challenge is: SOMETHING NEW!

I'm using a new Paper Artsy mushroom stamp set and my new Tim Holtz Distress Spritzes for my ATC's.  

Happy New Year! 

I thought it would be fun to create ATC's to share with others. I wanted a message focused on nature, as one of my intentions this year is to get outside and enjoy the wild. 

Mushrooms are symbols of good fortune, prosperity and longevity in many cultures, so I thought they were a great symbol for the new year...besides the fact, I just love mushrooms!

I began by collaging tissue paper onto a piece of watercolor paper. I am starting with one large piece that I will cut into ATC's later in the process.  

I added texture with the Simon grid stencil and texture paste. Once that dried, I added acrylic paint... 

Next up was to add some shimmer with the Distr4ess Spritzes. 

Once everything dried again, I cut the large sheet into ATC sized pieces.  

 Meanwhile, I stamped mushrooms , words and numbers, then added watercolor to the mushrooms. I fussy cut these.

After layering the images and popping some, I added some gold splatter.
