Emboss It!

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Thanks/Thanksgiving  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: EMBOSS IT!

Use any method of embossing and join us this week!

MR. FROSTIE IN A FLURRY

I began by embossing the acetate card with Simon's Faceted Snowflake embossing folder. Next, I applied Alcohol Pearl inks in purple and blue and blended them on the acetate.

I rubbed  a Brushed Pewter distress crayon over the card, and rubbed it in.

Now, I think the embossing is more visible.

Meanwhile, I stamp and colored Mr. Frostie with watercolors.

Once dry, I fussy cut the images.

Then, I glued my snowman and words to the front of the card.

Mr. Frostie is trying to catch a snowflake...

I now Mr. Frostie is ready for snow...but I am not...yet.

Winter Blues

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  TREES Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

We are showcasing the fabulous array of products from the Professor, aka Tim Holtz this week! I bet you have some of Tim's products in your stash, so pull them out and join us.

Please join me in welcoming Rox of Red Dirt Crafter for December and January. Welcome Rox!

This week the challenge is:     WINTER BLUES

I started my card with some ink smooshing, using several blue distress oxide inks.

I stamped the snow globe with prize ribbon ink.

I stamped additional trees from he set in Simon's Intense Black ink. I tried stamping the stars with gold gouache, which was an epic failure. So I mopped up as much as I could, let it dry, then stamped a blue star in the space. Hopefully it looks like a glowing cloud of stars now.

To cover up another mistake (stamping a tree upside down), I added a heart. I edged it with a gold pen, and added more gold pen to the stars and some trees.

The sky is glowing...

Winter blues reflect the wonder of a winter landscape at dusk.

Take Flight

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Stamp It/STAMPtember Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: TAKE FLIGHT

Mischievous Kitty is out in the pumpkin patch basking in the light of the full moon. Suddenly she sees a flock..swarm...oh, yes! Colony! of bats fly across the Moon. It's going to be a wild night in the pumpkin patch tonight!

I wanted to create a layered background, so I began with Simon's Old Letter stamp.

Next up, some lovely ink smooshing...

And then, it's just a matter of adding the selection of die cuts in the perfect spot.

The bats are taking flight!

Mischievous Kitty is watching from her pumpkin perch.

I thought I was done, then remembered STAMPtember and decided I needed to do a bit more stamping.

I added a bit of shadow under the pumpkin, and some stitches.

 Take Flight!

I hope you have enjoyed my inspiration this week and are ready to create and share yours!
