Fun With Foil

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  ADD SOME TEXTURE  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: FUN WITH FOIL

I had to think outside the box on this challenge, since I don't do much with foil. I just love these rabbits from Stamperia, and they were fun to match up with my embossed foil.

I saved the foil covers from some of my eye med containers to use for this challenge - a bit of up cycling.

I decided to color them with alcohol inks, and used warmer colors on one...

...thus getting a pinkish background.

I used cooler colors on the other foil...

...thus getting more of a blue background.

I embossed my colored foils with Simon's Criss Cross Floral embossing folder. Then, I laid out some ephemera from Stamperia, trying to determine my layout.  I decided to wrap the foil around a piece of cardboard for a more finished look.

I stenciled around the edges of the cards...

ADVENTURE AWAITS

Love this steampunk hare and his yen for gardening...

I like how the pink of her dress foes with the pinkish background of the foil. I added some pink pearls for an extra touch.

Who knew hares and foil played so well together? And why do I keep thinking of Peter Rabbit?

Simon Says: Emboss It!

Hello Monday my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Sparkle and Shine Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

It's been wonderful having Anita with us this month! I am sure you are as inspired by the awesome makes Anita made as I am!

This week the challenge is: EMBOSS IT!

I began my project by embossing the tag and working mica stains into it. (I think these are the holiday mica stains from last year.) Let it dry.

Next, work in the foundry waxes. I like blending several of them. Use the heat tool to bring out the shine.

Add a bit more color with Tim's new Distress Watercolor pencils. I scribbled them into areas of the design, then dried it. It's a very subtle look over the wax.

Then, I added my die cuts to create the design and added some gears too. I used leaves that I had made quite awhile back for another project. If you are interested in how I made my leaves, check out my post HERE.

I almost forgot the Simon acorns that I wanted to add! I cut them from watercolor paper and colored them with the distress watercolor pencils.

Oak leaf specimens...a few raindrops (gems), gears and distressed edges and we are done!

Let's Dry Emboss

Hello Monday my friends! Welcome back to our newest challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Dry Emboss.  I'm sharing a set of cards filled with hugs.

BUTTERFLY HUGS

I began by scribbling distress crayons onto the embossing folder, misted it with water and stamped my first card background using watercolor paper. I continued to emboss 3 more sheets, as each impression got lighter in color. I was pretty surprised at how many I could do and still get color.

I die cut the butterflies and hugs, layered my backgrounds onto black cardstock, and attached to a white card. Easy peasy, right?

Details...

Bright and colorful and ready to send out.

Now, it's your turn to join us! All you need to do is add some dry embossing to your make and share it with us. You might be chosen for a spotlight or the $25 shopping voucher from our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp!
